Claudia Sheinbaum is the first woman president in the history of Mexico

Claudia Sheinbaum, the candidate of the ruling Morena party, has won Mexico’s presidential election. With this, Claudia is the first female president in the history of Mexico. The news agency Reuters gave the news in a report.

This was reported by the Electoral Institute of Mexico, INE, on Sunday night. According to INE, the climate scientist and former mayor of Mexico City Sheinbaum won the presidency by a landslide with 58.3 to 60.7 percent of the vote. This is the highest vote in Mexico’s democratic history.

On the other hand, according to preliminary results, opposition candidate Jochil Galvez got 26.6 to 28.6 percent of the votes.

Voting for the presidential election in Mexico ended on Sunday. The Morena party has already announced Claudia Schinbaum as the country’s president-elect.

Claudia Shinbaum is going to succeed the current president of the country, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. The popularity of Claudia Obrador’s mentor among the poor population is believed to have played a role in her (Claudia Sheinbaum) victory.

The ruling coalition is on track for a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress. This majority would allow the ruling coalition to pass constitutional reforms without opposition support.

Supporters cheered for Claudia Sheenbaum, saying the president is president. Shinbaum said to them, “I am going to be the first woman president of Mexico in the 200-year history of the Republic.”

His victory basically made a new history in Mexico. Because, the country which believes in masculine culture, that country chose a woman as the president for the first time. It should be noted that Shinbaum will assume power on October 1 and will serve for the next six years.
