Drone-rocket attack on Israel from Yemen-Lebanon

Tehran announced the attack on Israel in retaliation for the attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria that killed a top commander. After much speculation on the matter, Iran launched an unprecedented drone and missile attack on Israel. Along with that, drone and rocket attacks have been launched in the country from Yemen and Lebanon.

According to a separate report by the news agency AFP, Yemen’s Houthi armed group carried out multiple drone attacks on Saturday night. Ambre, a private security agency, said Yemen’s Houthis have sent several drones to Israel in coordination with Iran.

Ambre said in a statement, “It is reported that the attack was carried out with the help of armed drones towards Israel. These drones were sent in coordination with Iran. Ambre said they initially assessed that the Houthis had “identified Israeli ports as potential targets.”

Meanwhile, at the same time, Lebanon-based Iran’s proxy group Hezbollah also fired a flurry of rockets targeting the Golan Heights, an Israeli territory captured from Syria. Hezbollah launched the attack an hour after Iran launched an attack on Israel.

The Iran-backed group Hezbollah has regularly fought cross-border clashes with Israel since the start of the ongoing war in Gaza. In a statement, Hezbollah said it fired dozens of Katyusha rockets at three Israeli military positions in the Golan Heights.

Before this, on April 1, an airstrike took place on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria. A total of 11 people were killed in this, including two top generals of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Al-Quds Force. Although Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack, Iran has been blaming Israel for it.

In response, Iran attacked Israel with several drones and missiles on Saturday. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday night that Iran launched drones and missiles at Israel.

The IDF said a number of drones had been launched. It may take several hours for the drones to arrive in Israel. Iran has launched more than 100 drones. An Israeli military officer gave this information.
