Don’t feed your husband if you mention Modi’s name: Kejriwal to women voters

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday urged women voters to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in India. He said it was the “responsibility” of female members to encourage male family members to support AAP instead of BJP. Indian media NDTV gave the news in a report.

Addressing women voters, Arvind Kejriwal also said, ‘Many men are chanting the name of Prime Minister Modi. Only you can fix it. If your husband says he will vote for PM Modi, tell him you won’t serve him dinner.’

Kejriwal even urged the women voters to pledge their male members to support AAP. He said, ‘Every husband should listen to his wife. right? If a wife swears an oath to her husband, then the husband is bound to obey it.’

The Chief Minister of Delhi also said to the women voters, ‘Tell them, Kejriwal is giving you free electricity, free bus tickets and now he is giving women 1000 rupees. What has BJP done for them? So why should you vote for BJP?’

The Delhi government in its budget has announced a payment of Rs 1,000 to all women above the age of 18 under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana’. In that context, Kejriwal said, ‘They (BJP) say that Kejriwal is wasting money by giving 1000 rupees to every woman in the city. I ask them, when you waived off large sums of debt to many people, was it not wasted?’
