Israel has denied responsibility for the attack on UN observers.

Three UN observers and a translator were wounded by Israeli shelling in Ramish, southern Lebanon. The news was given by the British media BBC in a report about the UN peacekeeping mission on Saturday. The incident occurred amid rising tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.

Lebanon’s state news agency said an Israeli drone strike was responsible for the explosion. However, Israeli military spokesman Avichai Adrei denied responsibility for the attack.

The UN mission UNIFIL said the injured were being treated and they were investigating the source of the blast. In a statement, UNIFIL said a shell exploded near a patrol along the UN-defined “Blue Line” that separates southern Lebanon from Israel.

UNIFIL described the targeting of peacekeepers as “unacceptable”.

No details were given about the nationalities of the observers or their status. However, the Lebanese translator is said to be stable.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone struck an area in southern Lebanon injuring observers.

On the other hand, Israel’s military denied the allegation, saying in a statement that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) did not attack any UNIFIL vehicles in the Ramish area this morning.

In recent days, tensions have risen again along the border between Israel and Lebanon. Casualties are happening on both sides.

At least 270 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the country so far by Israeli military strikes, Lebanese government sources said. Another 50 civilians were killed in the Israeli attack in Lebanon. Among the dead are children, doctors and journalists.
