The death toll from the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of the Russian capital Moscow, has risen to 115. As many of them died due to gunshots, several died in the fire in the concert hall. The Kremlin said on Saturday that 11 people, including four suspected gunmen, had been arrested in the attack. The news agency AFP gave the news in a report.

Alexander Bortnikov, head of the FSB security service, told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the detainees included armed “four terrorists” and that the FSB was working to identify their accomplices.

The FSB also said four suspected gunmen were arrested at the border with Ukraine. They had contacts in Ukraine. Those arrested are being transferred to Moscow.

Russia, however, has yet to release any evidence of Ukrainian links to the suspected gunmen. Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the President of Ukraine, said on Friday that Kiev had no connection with yesterday’s attack.

The Islamic State-Khorasan, or IS, claimed responsibility for the attack. US broadcaster CNN reported that the Islamic State-Khorasan made the claim in a short video message on the Telegram channel. The video was shared on the Telegram channel of the Islamic State-affiliated news agency ‘Amaq.

IS claimed responsibility for the attack in the video. However, the group did not give any information on how they carried out the attack or who was involved.

Russian lawmaker Alexander Khinshtein said the suspected attackers fled in a Renault car. They were spotted by police last night in the Bryansk region, about 340 kilometers (210 miles) southwest of Moscow, and told to stop. But the car disobeyed the order to stop. The vehicle was then chased and two were nabbed while the other two fled into the forest. The Kremlin later said that the two escapees were later apprehended.

A pistol, a magazine from an assault rifle and a Tajik passport were found in the car, Khinshtein said. The Central Asian nation of Tajikistan is a predominantly Muslim country that was formerly part of the Soviet Union.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at Russian airports, transport hubs and across the capital following the attack. All large gatherings have been canceled across the country.
