Germany will not accept any obstacle to Israel’s access to aid in the besieged Gaza Strip. German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock said on the social platform Facebook today that Germany will not listen to any more excuses from Israel to allow aid to Gaza. The news agency AFP gave the news in a report.

Israel has announced the opening of two new routes to allow more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. The announcement came hours after US President Joe Biden gave Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an ultimatum to stop killing civilians in Gaza.

According to a BBC report, the Erase Gate in northern Gaza will be temporarily opened for the first time since the war began. The port of Ashdod will also be opened. In addition, more aid will be allowed to enter from Jordan through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

In this context, the German Foreign Minister said, Israel has no excuse to block the entry of aid to Gaza. He said on Facebook, “The people of Gaza now need every package of relief.” We hope that the Israeli government will quickly implement its announcements. No more excuses.’

Last Monday, the Israeli army carried out airstrikes on the convoy of the aid organization World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza. Seven relief workers died. The deceased group was attacked while passing through an isolated area in a car with WCK logo. After this incident, the Netanyahu government is now under political pressure from various sides.

But the biggest blow came from the ally USA. Biden specifically requested the reopening of the corridors in the phone call. Biden essentially issued an ultimatum to the Israeli government, asking it to take decisive action to prevent civilian casualties and ensure the safety of aid workers. If not, US policy on Gaza will change.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Thursday that if the changes they want to see do not happen, they will change their policy on providing aid to Israel.

This is the first time such a significant change in US policy has been seen. It is said to be the first time Washington has used military aid to influence the Gaza war.
