This time, the vice president of the United States is against Israel

US Vice President Kamala Harris has taken a strong stand against Israel. He said Israel is not doing enough to prevent a humanitarian disaster in Gaza. At the same time, he called on Hamas to accept the ceasefire proposal. This information is known from the report of the British media The Guardian.

Before Kamala Harris, US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken slammed Israel for what it is doing in Gaza. However, despite verbal reprimands, the country continued to provide aid to the country. Washington is even supporting Israel in various international forums, especially the United Nations.

Kamala Harris said this in a speech given on Sunday at an event held in Edmund Pitts Bridge area of Selma, Alabama. He called for the immediate implementation of a 6-week ceasefire agreement in Gaza and also urged Hamas to accept the ceasefire proposal.

Criticizing Israel, Kamala Harris said, “The people of Gaza are dying without food.” The situation there is inhumane and all of humanity is forcing us to do something.” He added, “The Israeli government must take the initiative to ensure that sufficient relief can enter Gaza. No excuse will do.’

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said on February 8 that what Israel is doing in Gaza has gone too far. He said, ‘I think, you know—in Gaza, the response in the Gaza Strip [to the October 7 attack by Hamas] has been overblown.’At the time, he said, he was pressing Israel hard for a permanent ceasefire.

Before that, US Secretary of State Blinken said at a press conference in Israel, “The majority of people in Gaza have nothing to do with the attack on October 7.” Many families in Gaza depend on Israeli aid for survival.’

Referring to the Palestinians, the US Secretary of State also said, ‘They are also like our family. They are like our mothers, fathers, sons and daughters. People who want to earn a good living, send their children to school and live a normal life. This is their real identity.
